The Parade of Flags was dedicated November 10, 2014. It is similar to a display that impressed our member Marvin Taylor as he traveled in Iowa. The original Parade of Flags–which contained the US flag, 50 state flags, 7 service flags and a POW/MIA flag–was the result of 250 hours of work at the site and donations of over $60,000. At the area, several benches were installed and a table for relaxation.
Later upgrade of the location includes a walkway of the 5 US Territories. Upon the Space Force becoming a US Armed Service, their flag was added to the line of Service Flags and the POW/MIA flag was moved to the East of the Service flags. Later improvements included an information board, a sign-in desk, a donation box, and shade over the table.
